Alliance First Aid Training Academy Ltd ("Alliance Academy") is committed to ensuring the integrity and quality of its training and assessment processes. This policy sets out the measures for preventing, identifying, investigating, and managing malpractice and maladministration to maintain compliance with regulatory and awarding body requirements, particularly those of Qualsafe Awards.

2. Scope

This policy applies to all staff, trainers, assessors, learners, and any third parties involved in the delivery, assessment, or administration of qualifications offered by Alliance Academy.

3. Definitions

Malpractice: Any deliberate action, practice, or omission that compromises the integrity, validity, or reliability of assessment and certification. Examples include plagiarism, collusion, fraudulent claims, or falsification of evidence.

Maladministration: Any improper, careless, or inefficient administration of training, assessment, or certification that may result in errors, inaccuracies, or unfair advantages. Examples include incorrect record-keeping, failure to follow procedures, or issuing incorrect results.

4. Preventing Malpractice and Maladministration

Alliance Academy will implement the following measures to prevent malpractice and maladministration:

  • Clearly communicate policies and procedures to all staff and learners.
  • Provide training and guidance on ethical practices, assessment integrity, and administrative accuracy.
  • Ensure robust internal quality assurance (IQA) procedures are in place.
  • Maintain clear records and transparent audit trails for all assessments and certification processes.
  • Encourage a culture of openness and accountability, where concerns can be raised without fear of reprisal.

5. Identifying and Reporting Concerns

  • Any suspected malpractice or maladministration must be reported to the designated Responsible Officer.
  • Reports should be made in writing, providing relevant details and supporting evidence.
  • Anonymous reports will be considered where sufficient detail is provided to enable a fair investigation.

6. Investigation Process

Upon receiving a report, Alliance Academy will:

  • Acknowledge receipt of the complaint and ensure confidentiality where appropriate.
  • Assign an impartial investigator who will gather evidence and interview relevant parties.
  • Maintain accurate records of the investigation process.
  • Inform relevant awarding bodies where necessary.
  • Conclude the investigation within a reasonable timeframe and provide findings to relevant stakeholders.

7. Managing Malpractice and Maladministration

If malpractice or maladministration is confirmed, Alliance Academy will take appropriate action, which may include:

  • Informing affected parties and providing remedial actions.
  • Implementing corrective measures to prevent recurrence.
  • Disciplinary action against those responsible, which may include termination of employment or removal from a qualification.
  • Reporting to Qualsafe Awards or other relevant authorities as required.

8. Appeals and Review

  • Individuals have the right to appeal any decisions made regarding malpractice or maladministration.
  • Appeals must be submitted in writing within 10 working days of the decision.
  • A review panel will consider the appeal and provide a final decision.

Policy Review

This policy will be reviewed annually and whenever regulatory changes occur to maintain compliance with Qualsafe Awards and relevant UK legislation.
