Alliance Academy is committed to safeguarding the welfare of all learners, staff, and visitors. This policy ensures a safe learning environment by preventing and addressing any concerns regarding abuse, neglect, or harm.

2. Scope

This policy applies to all learners, staff, contractors, and visitors at Alliance Academy.

3. Key Principles

  • Protection from all forms of abuse, including physical, emotional, sexual, and financial abuse.
  • A culture of awareness and responsibility among staff and learners.
  • Prompt reporting and response to safeguarding concerns.

4. Responsibilities

  • Staff and Trainers – Must complete safeguarding training and report any concerns.
  • Learners – Encouraged to report concerns about their own or others’ safety.

5. Reporting Concerns

  • Concerns must be reported immediately to an appropriate member of staff.
  • All reports will be handled confidentially and in line with the UK Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006.
  • If immediate danger is suspected, emergency services should be contacted.

6. DBS Checks

  • Staff working with vulnerable learners will be subject to Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks.

7. Policy Review

This policy will be reviewed annually to remain compliant with safeguarding laws and best practices.
